Kids - Pedestrian Safety

Nearly 700 children die every year in motor vehicle related pedestrian accidents. Pedestrian injury is the second leading cause of unintentional- injury related death among children five though 14. Kids run a greater risk of pedestrian accidents because their minds and bodies haven’t formed the capacity to adequately deal with traffic threats. Safe Kids is a national organization dedicated to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury, which developed the pedestrian’s safety initiative “Safe Kids Walk This Way” to help reduce injuries.
